Scoping the Evidence BasePosted by Ian Collinson - 25 Sep 07 11:55I would argue that 'front-loading' to consider and agree the scope of key elements of the evidence base needed to support a planning application is a key stage. This is traditionally done in Transport Assessments for example where the source of data used can be agreed at the outset. This will ensure that when the evidence is presented it is fit for purpose. It should avoid unecessary and time consuming technical arguements over data.

Using tariffs/standard charges to streamline S106 negotiationsPosted by Rob Smith - 07 Jan 08 16:01When dealing with large scale epplications, what has been the practical experience of how established SPG/SPD documents that define a range of planning obligations have helped ease the process.
Has it meant issues can be dealt with quicker or are do the various S106 elements still get opened up for debate and negotiation at the planning application stage? -
Allocating land in LDFsName withheld - 01 Jul 08 16:59The recent change in PPS12 now seems to give greater freedom to allocate "strategic sites" in Core Strategies. Horsham is held up as an example of an Authority that has already done this through its CS, and I know that some other Authorities have given greater definition to urban extensions actually in the CS such as defining residential unit numbers and setting out general guiding policies & principles.
Can anyone let me know of any advanced ior adopted CS's to look at to see how far people are starting to go with this in terms fo what's actually in the CS, how much extra work this actually involves (over and above a CS without strategic site allocations) and then how the proposal woudl be worked up post CS examination & adoption (AAP, SPD or straight to pre-application?)
Thanks.
